![]() the way i did it was starting with a sheet of paper i numbered the paper from 1-80(BLUE) and 1-80(RED) minus the wire that were suppose to be removed on the pcm harness. since you have to know what engine you have before you can chop the harness up This is all for right now more info about the engine differences then wiring info. You can use any cam in any engine you just have to change the knock sensor wire and cam sensor, with timing cover with cam hole. some people will change it and make you think you are crazy ![]() the big X is LSX=454 the little x is the series of engines aka gen 3/4 LS motors. The LS4 is the sideways engine that is in around the year 2008 impala ss its a 5.3 Ls6 intake looks like LS1 but ls1s bottom of the intake is wavy if you look straight at it. Ls3 also use one bolt cam instead of 3 bolt ls1 LS1 cam sensor is in the back top of the motor, ls3 cam sensor is in the timing cover on the front. Gen 3 motors use 24 tooth reluctors gen 4 is 58 tooth Im not real familiar with the different designations as in ls1/2/3/4/6/7/9/X but i kno the LS1 intake will fit the 4.8 or 5.3. (pull a spark plug out and look at a angle with a flashlight and you can see the piston top other wise there is no way to tell if its a 5.3 or 4.8 without taking the oil pan off to see the part number on the crank or taking head off to see the piston.only way guys) ![]() the 5.3 has dished pistons with a lil cross on the middle. The 4.8 has flat pistons along with the 5.7. The 6.0 is either a iron block or alum block you will know by looking what one it is. The 5.7 cam be made by boring a 5.3 and using 5.7 stuff. All from memory to start i just wanna say ALMOST ALL LS ENGINE ARE THE SAME SIZE.
